BEFORE YOU BEGIN……
Ensure that you have downloaded all the necessary license files for the software installed on your machine.
Ensure that you have our unzip utility that will Unzip all .zip files. We suggest using TurboZip.
Ensure that you have available the Email Confirmation you received after placing your order for the software. This may contain specific instructions, which will be helpful during the installation.
It is recommended that you close all other applications prior to starting the installation.
The software you have downloaded is in compressed format (zipped), and must be uncompressed (unzipped) before installing.
1. Locate and click on sas_setinet zip on your desktop. Double clicking will initiate the unzipping process.
2. The zip file initiates the decompression process and you can see all the files in the TurboZip Express window.
3. The next step is to EXTRACT the files to your desktop, using the default naming conventions that have been built into the .zip files.
4. Once unzipped and extracted, you will have all the setinets for your version of SAS.
1. Navigate to Start-->All Programs-->SAS-->SAS 91Utilities-->Renew SAS Software
2. The window shown below will pop up. Using the Browse button, navigate to the location where you unzipped and extracted the SAS setinets, and choose the one that is appropriate for your operating System. Click Next.
3. The screen below allows you to review the components licensed. Click OK.
4. Ensure that you have chosen the setinet that matches your operating system. Click Next.
5. Ensure that the folder indicated on the screen below is the correct location for your SAS program. Click Renew.
6. Review the Installation Data retrieved from the SAS setinet file for accuracy, then click Next.
7. The window below will appear, indicating that your setinet was successfully applied. This completes the update and you are now ready to use SAS for another year.
8. Enjoy using your SAS program!
Download your Setinit. See above for download and unzipping instructions.
Inside the unzipped Setinit folder, you will find a file named "setinit.sss".
Right Click the setinit.sss file and select "Apply Authorization" from the menu.
A window should flash quickly and then a NEW Setinit.sss file with a RED dot should appear.
Double Click the Red dot file and one of two things should happen:
1.) SAS will open and the license will be updated; or
2) An error log will open stating that a problem has occurred.
If the latter occurs, you must contact CISER (ciser@cornell.edu) for assistance.
