BEFORE YOU BEGIN……
Ensure that you have downloaded and installed Exceed 2006 onto your computer. Exceed 3D requires that you have Exceed installed.
Ensure that you have downloaded all the necessary files for the software you ordered.
Ensure that you have our unzip utility that will Unzip all .zip files. We suggest using TurboZip.
Ensure that you have available the Email Confirmation you received after placing your order for the software. This may contain your license key and specific instructions, which will be helpful during the installation.
It is recommended that you close all other applications prior to starting the installation.
The software you have downloaded is in compressed format (zipped), and must be uncompressed (unzipped) before installing.
Locate and click on exceed_20063d.zip on your desktop. Double clicking will initiate the unzipping process. Double clicking the zip file will initiate the uncompressing process and Turbozip will open a window which will list all of the compressed software files.
Next, you MUST extract the software files to complete the unzip process. Click “Extract”, located on the menu of your unzip utility (see above), and then select the folder to extract the files to (see below). We recommend extracting to your desktop.
Once unzipped and extracted, you will find a new folder on your desktop named “exceed3d_2006_temp”.
Inside the exceed3d_2006_temp folder, navigate to the Exceed 3D folder and double click to open it. Choose the x86 folder (if using a 64-bit operating system, select x64), and double click to open the appropriate folder.
1. Double click on the “setup” file to launch the setup wizard for Exceed 3D. Installation will begin. The window shown below will pop up. Click Next.
2. Choose the type of installation you wish to perform, Personal or Administrative by clicking on the appropriate link. The normal install is done using the Personal Installation option.
3. Choose the language you wish to have the installation performed in and click OK.
4. Click Next.
5. Following the prompts, read the End User License Agreement (EULA), click the radio button to accept the terms of the (EULA) and click Next to continue.
6. Complete the User Name, and ALWAYS use Cornell University as the Organization. Click Next.
7. Click on the setup type that best suits your needs. The common choice is Typical. Click Next.
8. Click in the boxes to choose any additional install options, and click Next.
9. Click the Install button to begin the installation.
10. When the setup wizard has completed the installation, click Finish.
